Surgery & Anesthesia
Our experienced vets can offer a range of routine and emergency surgical procedures at our clinic. We have a dedicated operating theatre for surgery which is performed using up to date anaesthetic protocols. Every animal is examined by a vet prior to anaesthesia and the protocol is tailored according to the health status of each individual animal. All anaesthetics are monitored throughout by a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Should your pet need more specialised surgical intervention, we work closely with referral practices to ensure that you are offered the very best care available for your animal.

Diagnostics
Providing rapid diagnosis is essential in the provision of gold standard healthcare. For this reason we have been investing in state of the art veterinary diagnostic equipment for our hospital. We can now offer an extensive array of laboratory tests in house, with minimal turn around time. Some examples include urinalysis, microscopy, haematology and biochemistry. In addition to routine blood screening we can also offer more specific tests such as SDMA, a highly specific and sensitive marker of early kidney dysfunction, and T4, a marker of thyroid function in dogs and cats.
Pet Passport
As required by law, all dogs, cats and ferrets travelling outside or in to Ireland must carry a Pet Passport. For this, they need a health check, microchip, rabies vaccination and in many cases, tapeworm treatment before travelling. All of this can be arranged at our practice and a passport issued within days. Please note that rabies vaccination must be performed three weeks before intended date of travel.
Nutritional Advice
The importance of choosing the right diet for your animal's age, breed, activity level and health status cannot be underestimated. Thanks to ongoing internal education programs, all of our staff can advise you on appropriate nutrition for your pet. We stock a wide range of both prescription and 'life-stage'- food from high end pet food producers, Hills and Royal Canin.
Dental Care
From routine ultrasonic scale and polish to management of more complex periodontal disease, care of your pet's dental health can vastly improve your their overall health and well being. Dental disease can present itself in many ways and can be difficult for owners to assess at home. If you are noticing signs of smelly breath, weight loss, excessive drooling or pain when eating, don't hesitate to book in for a dental examination.
Poor Performance Investigation
Peter has a particular interest and experience in treating greyhounds with reduced performance issues. From racing injuries to dehydration, the welfare of greyhounds is paramount and we endeavour to provide the best possible care for these dogs. As a practice, we work closely with the Homes for Unwanted Greyhounds (HUGS) charity and actively participate in matching retired greyhounds with new homes as pets.
Imaging
Our digital X-ray machine is hugely beneficial in the investigation of various issues your pet may be experiencing. The high quality images produced by our machine allow our vets to assess your animal internally from tip to tail. In addition to X-ray we also have a sate of the art ultrasound machine which provides detailed images of soft tissues. We can offer pregnancy scans from 28days gestation.
Grooming
Any breed of dog or cat can be groomed and pampered by our experienced groomer Eileen Lyne. Eileen works three days a week and books up fast so make sure to give plenty of notice when arranging your appointment. As there is always a vet on site, we can offer to give your pet some sedation, should they find grooming particularly stressful.
